Common Values Logo
We believe in fundamental rights and freedoms - shared values that protect every member of the human family and the society we seek to build together

In the UK the Human Rights Act protects us all - old and young, rich and poor, you and me. It is especially important for vulnerable people but you never know when you might need to use the protection of the Human Rights Act.

Campaign aims

  • Broaden understanding of human rights. People need to know what their rights are and why they are important. See What are human rights? for more information.
  • Increase respect for human rights by showing where the Human Rights Act has been used to get a better deal from public services for vulnerable people.
  • Counter some of the damaging myths and false information that exist around human rights law - see our truth and illusion page.

Commission on a Bill of Rights

The Commission conducted a public consultation in 2011.

Then help us spread the love by sharing the page with your friends and adding our 'Love human rights' twibbon to your social network profile.

Many of our posters and leaflets are available to download from the 'Materials' box below. We also have five mini film clips available to share - watch Protect our values
