| WHAT YOU CAN DO There is no evidence to support an extension of pre-charge detention. You can help us make sure the Government has a fight on their hands before implementing this counter-productive, unjust and dangerous measure.
Although the proposals narrowly passed in the House of Commons on 11 June 2008 (by 315 to 306 votes), the battle will now be taken up in the House of Lords.
You have helped us get this far: we have won the argument, if not the vote, and defeated a government majority. Please continue to support Charge or Release. We can stop these dangerous proposals from becoming law, but only with your help.
