| The 2001 National Census: Liberty's view...22 Jan 2001 Roger Bingham In response to questions about Liberty's view on a National Census
Deborah Clark, Director of Public Affairs at Liberty said today:
Although the census takes place once every ten years, and forms a valuable tool for us to see how our country is changing and developing, making it a criminal offence not to complete it is wrong. Liberty is particularly concerned that the census now contains questions that some people feel sensitive about answering, such as about their religious beliefs, or in certain circumstances their ethnic group.
