| Big Lottery Fund to expand Liberty's rights advice service16 Dec 2005 The Big Lottery Fund has awarded Liberty a grant to enhance its YourRights website and professional advice service to amplify the impact of human rights legislation. Liberty will be able to inform more individuals about their rights and how to seek redress without a lengthy legal process.
Gemma Cannings, Trusts Development Officer for Liberty, said:
“The Big Lottery support means that more people will know in practical terms what their human rights are and how to seek redress outside the courts from employers, councils, ombudsmen, and others.”
Over the next three years, Liberty’s YourRights web and email advice service will increase its guidance for members of the public on all areas of human rights. Liberty’s professional advice and information team will expand to counsel more people who have suffered human rights abuses about how to seek redress. Liberty will also hold additional human rights awareness workshops and outreach in targeted communities.
