Commenting on growing problems for the Government’s controversial ID Cards Bill Shami Chakrabarti, Director of Liberty, said:


“This ID card scheme is a dangerous white elephant, as costly to our freedoms as our finances.

Fears for race relations and personal privacy warrant ending its rampage even before costs spiral completely out of control. No wonder the country is thinking again. A listening Prime Minister would do the same.”
