  • JOINT PLEDGES

  • Liberty/11 MILLION pledge on fighting the Mosquito

Using technology originally designed to scare away vermin, the ‘Mosquito’ is a device that emits a very high frequency buzzing sound which cannot be heard by people over the age of 25. What type of society uses a low-level sonic weapon on its children? The ‘Mosquito’ has no place in a country that values its children and seeks to instill them with dignity and respect. Join 11 MILLION and Liberty by supporting the ‘Buzz Off’ campaign to ban the Mosquito.

    Liberty/Reprieve pledge against torture

Our Government is attempting to sidestep, ignore and undermine our legal and moral obligations to prevent torture. Never right, never justified, never in a civilised society. Join Liberty and Reprieve by saying NO TORTURE, NO COMPROMISE.

Joint NO2ID / Privacy International / Liberty pledge to protect personal privacy

In December 2008, the unanimous decision of the European Court of Human Rights in S and Marper v UK struck a significant blow in favour of privacy protection in the UK. This case established that the automatic retention of DNA samples, profiles and fingerprints from those who are not convicted of any offence is a breach of the right to a private life.

Protect the right to privacy by joining Liberty, No2ID and Privacy International and by calling on the Government to implement this judgment.
