Here Ava Harris, a 10-year-old Liberty supporter who raised money for us with a sponsored silence, explains why she chose to do this and what it was like:

"I did my sponsored silence because I wanted to do something to raise money for Liberty but I didn’t want to do something that lots of people do, like a cake sale. Also, seeing that Liberty is an organisation that supports people that aren’t allowed to protest and speak up for themselves, a sponsored silence seemed very relevant.
"I was on holiday and me and my mum were talking about how sometimes the Government doesn’t make the right decisions. Then she told me that in some countries the people aren’t allowed to protest if they think that the Government has the wrong idea. When I heard that I was very surprised because we are allowed to protest and I have been on a demonstration myself.
"Seeing as I talk quite a bit I found the sponsored silence quite hard but not too hard. I finished it at around lunch time but I still got lots of support from my family and raised £50!"
Huge thanks Ava!
