Leaving a gift in your Will

‘The fight that is never done’. That’s how our first President E.M. Forster described our work in 1942, and the years in-between have only proved him right.

Every generation faces different threats to their fundamental rights and freedoms, the only thing we can be sure of is that the attacks will keep coming. Why? Because civil liberties are inconvenient for those in power. Human rights stand in the way of control.

We will never give up our fight. We can't always see where the next threat will come from, but with your help we can be ready. By considering leaving a gift to Liberty in your Will, you can help to protect human rights for generations to come.

Why support us?

Many people think that only very rich people leave money to charities in their will, but that isn’t the case. A legacy gift of any size will make a big difference to our work.

The National Free Wills Network

Thanks to the National Free Wills Network you can have a simple Will written by a solicitor in your area, completely free of charge. There is no obligation to leave a legacy to Liberty in doing so, but we hope you would feel able to.

How does it work?

If you are already a Liberty member, you can apply to the National Free Wills Network by contacting us using the details below. If you are not yet a member of Liberty, find out how you can join us now.

After applying, you will get a letter from the National Free Wills Network with a list of participating solicitors in your area and a voucher that is valid for 60 days, so you have up to two months to make an appointment with your preferred solicitor. Then they will help you draw up your Will free of charge.

Once you have drawn up your Will, your chosen solicitor will simply contact us to confirm that your voucher has been used.

The Civil Liberties Trust
